Job description
As a Web Developer at Vyavsaay, you will handle complete website development from user interface implementation to backend functionality and database integration. You will build responsive pages from approved designs, develop dynamic features, forms, dashboards and APIs, integrate third-party services, troubleshoot production issues and improve existing websites without breaking working functionality. The role requires equal attention to visual accuracy, usability, code quality, performance, security and maintainability across desktop and mobile devices.
Roles & responsibilities
- Build responsive, production-ready websites and web interfaces using HTML, CSS and JavaScript based on approved designs and requirements.
- Develop backend functionality for dynamic pages, forms, authentication, dashboards, business workflows and database-driven features.
- Work with PHP and MySQL to create, maintain and optimize server-side modules and application data flows.
- Create and consume REST APIs and integrate third-party services such as payment gateways, messaging tools, maps, analytics and other business platforms.
- Ensure layouts work correctly across modern browsers, screen sizes and common devices without compromising usability or visual consistency.
- Translate UI/UX designs into clean, reusable frontend components while preserving design accuracy and interaction behaviour.
- Debug frontend and backend issues, identify root causes and resolve production problems without introducing regressions.
- Improve page speed, database queries, asset loading, accessibility, SEO foundations and overall website performance.
- Follow secure development practices for forms, authentication, sessions, file uploads, database operations and user-supplied data.
- Maintain and enhance existing websites, including legacy code, while preserving established business logic and live functionality.
- Use Git for version control and participate in testing, code review and controlled deployment workflows.
- Coordinate with designers, developers, marketing and project teams to deliver complete website features on schedule.
Skills & qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Web Development or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and responsive web development.
- Good JavaScript fundamentals and experience implementing interactive frontend behaviour without unnecessary dependencies.
- Hands-on experience with PHP and MySQL for backend development and database-driven websites.
- Good understanding of REST APIs, JSON, AJAX/fetch and frontend-to-backend data communication.
- Ability to convert Figma, design references or static layouts into accurate, responsive web pages.
- Understanding of forms, authentication, sessions, validation, file uploads and common web security practices.
- Experience with Git and structured source-control workflows.
- Strong debugging skills across browser console, network requests, server-side code and database queries.
- Understanding of SEO-friendly HTML structure, website performance, accessibility and cross-browser compatibility.
- Experience with CMS platforms such as WordPress or similar systems is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Linux hosting, cPanel/server environments and deployment workflows is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail and comfort working across both frontend and backend tasks.
